Richard Marcus
Business Psychologist /Executive Coach
Dr. Richard Marcus is a licensed psychologist with over 40 years professional experience, spending the last 25 years working with senior level executives. He has maintained an independent business psychology/executive coaching consulting practice for the past 20 years. During that time, he has consulted to multiple organizations (for- profit and non-profit) locally, nationally and internationally on talent management issues relating to executive assessment, executive development and succession planning. In addition to his work as an executive coach, Dr. Marcus’ areas of professional expertise include competency based executive selection processes, senior executive career reappraisal and opportunities management, designing and implementing talent management and succession planning programs, team facilitation and working with closely held, family-owned businesses. He has extensive experience as a psychometrician using cognitive, personality, vocational, workstyle and 360 assessment instruments. Dr. Marcus received his BA in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He has served on several non-profit boards including Beacon, The Philadelphia Society for People and Strategy and the Pathway School, an approved private school for children with special needs. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of The Pathway Corporation, The Pathway School’s parent organization, In addition, Dr. Marcus chairs Beacon’s CEO Roundtable. Last, he serves as Consulting Executive Coach for the University of Pennsylvania’s AMP-UP program for high potential managers, The Wharton School’s Full Time and Executive MBA Programs and several of its Advanced Certificate Programs.
